Photographic workshop in the 5 terre: life hanging over the sea

2024

They rise from the sea to the 812 m of Mount Malpertuso, the highest elevation of the 15 km ridge that isolates the Cinque Terre from the Ligurian hinterland. A play of contours, at times overhanging the sea, covered by Mediterranean scrub: heather, broom, pine, alternating with vineyards on terraces that defy the law of gravity.

Along the coast between the inlets of the spurs, man has found refuge, settling in what are now pleasant seaside villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso.

In addition to the landscape, the photographer is also concerned with narrating the relationship between man and the environment. The reportage includes short treks, visits to activities related to the sea and the land with the aim of communicating this embrace between man and the land between sky and sea. With master photographer Mirko Sotgiu, evocative reportage images of these pretty villages will be taken at the best times. The excursions, which are never demanding, will take us to discover little-known places beyond the most famous classic spots in the UNESCO World Heritage Cinque Terre.
